online care provides patients a 10-minute medical visit with you – or longer if you both agree. How you use that time is up to you and your patient.
When you receive notification that a patient is seeking care, you can review his or her needs and determine if NowClinic is appropriate, based on your medical judgement, and if you’d like to accept the visit. You can refer patients to other disciplines as needed, and you can also direct patients to in-person care.
NowClinic allows you to review symptoms, address patients’ questions, offer a second opinion, and more. Your treatment might include a self-care plan, guidance on next steps to follow, a diagnosis1, and/or medication/prescription2.
While NowClinic may be used for treating many acute illnesses (depending on the particular circumstances and your clinical judgement), the most common uses have included:
1. If clinically appropriate.
- Bladder infection
- Pink eye
- Seasonal flu
- Sinus infection
- Sore throat
- Viral illness
2. If clinically appropriate. No controlled substances may be prescribed and the availability of other prescriptions may be restricted by law.
