What services can I provide?

NowClinicSM online care provides patients a 10-minute medical visit with you – or longer if you both agree. How you use that time is up to you and your patient. 

When you receive notification that a patient is seeking care, you can review his or her needs and, based on your own expertise, determine if NowClinic is appropriate and if you’d like to accept the visit. You can refer patients to other disciplines as needed, and you can also direct patients to in-person care. 

NowClinic allows you to review symptoms, delve deeply into patients’ questions, offer a second opinion, and more. Your treatment might include a self-care plan, guidance on text steps to follow, a diagnosis1, and/or medication/prescription2. 

While NowClinic can be used for treating many acute and chronic illnesses, the most common uses have included:
  • Allergies
  • Bladder infection
  • Bronchitis
  • Cough/cold
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Pink eye
  • Rash
  • Seasonal flu
  • Sinus infection
  • Sore throat
  • Viral illness

Additional fees may apply to an extension of the initial 10-minute visit. Services provided via NowClinic online care are not submitted to any private or public health insurance/health plan company for payment on your behalf. Payment for NowClinic services does not cover pharmacy charges; you must pay for prescriptions (if any) separately. No controlled substances may be prescribed. Other prescriptions may be available where clinically appropriate and permitted by law, and can be transmitted to the pharmacy of your choice. NowClinic is managed in OptumHealth Care Solutions, Inc., an Optum company.
